On this Global Recycling Day (18 March 2022), we would like to announce our membership in the Indian Plastic Pact as a supporting member. Green Worms is one of the ~10 waste management companies selected in India to be part of this Pact.

The India Plastics Pact is an ambitious, collaborative initiative that aims to bring together businesses, governments, and NGOs to reduce, reuse, and recycle plastics in their value chain. The India Plastics Pact was the first pact launched in Asia. The India Plastics Pact is a collaboration between the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), WWF India, and WRAP, a UK-based NGO funded by the UK Research & Innovation (UKRI).

At Green Worms, we believe being part of the Indian Plastic Pact is a great opportunity to accelerate the transition towards Circularity in the Plastics Value chain. The objectives of the Indian Plastic Pact aligned with our Mission of creating dignified jobs through a circular economy to eradicate both plastic pollution and poverty in India.

The Indian Plastic Pact focusses on addressing the barriers to circularity in the plastic packaging sector.

The framework of the India Plastics Pact will facilitate an enabling environment to bring about a paradigm shift through the plastics value chain. It allows the action to be taken at the scale required to create an impact in India.
